Licensing Specialist Training

Join us August 3, 2026 for a copyright training and seminar designed specifically for licensing specialists.

This session will offer a practical blend of expert insights, real university‑specific examples, and an interactive case‑roundup discussion led by Jack Newman and Ethan Schow of the BYU Copyright Licensing Office.

All attendees must register for the session. Following the training, a complimentary lunch from Apple Spice Junction will be provided. Participants may choose to stay and eat with fellow licensing specialists or take their lunch to go.

Licensing specialists are employees who routinely license copyrighted material or administer licenses on behalf of their college, division, or department. These employees should be routinely engaged in licensing activities (e.g., seeking permissions, negotiating terms, reviewing agreements, etc.).
